Neil Young – Operations Manager, Claims
After working in the public house trade for ten
years I joined the business in 1999 and spent four months in Customer Services
before taking up a position in Teleclaims, then our Accidental Damage team,
where I worked for a year. At this point I had the chance to apply to the Third
Party Outbound team, it was very small at the time but I could see the opportunity
for growth and a possible management position. After about six months I was
promoted to a senior role, then I successfully applied for a management
position. Just one year later I was overseeing a 20 strong team as Third Party
Post Team Manager, before rising to Operations Manager for the claims
department service unit two years later.
Sue Longthorn - Managing Director, Admiral
Before joining
Admiral I was a Financial Assistant for Terry's Group, the
confectioner. I left for a complete change to spend six months working
in Corfu. I joined Admiral in May 1993 as a Customer Accounts Clerk,
and moved up to Accounts Team Manager in 1995. In 1997, I helped set up
Diamond as an Accounts Manager within the management team. My longest
role to date with the company was from 1998 when I became IT Helpdesk
Manager. Then my career took a big step forward when I became Managing
Director of Bell in 2005, and subsequently Managing Director of Admiral
in 2006.
Michelle Davies – Team Manager, Bell
Before joining Admiral
I worked for various solicitors in their billing departments and as a
Costs Negotiator for another legal company. My career here began when I
joined the management training programme in January 2006. Initially I
worked in various brands and departments including sales for Admiral
and Elephant, customer services for Bell, and the claims, quality and
accounts departments. In October 2006 I became a Team Manager in Bell
customer services, followed by a brief international spell as a Team
Manager for Admiral renewals in Canada in June 2007. I returned to Bell
in Cardiff in November 2007 and am currently working as a Team Manager
for renewals.
